Women in West Africa
I was in Burkina Faso for last year’s International Women’s Day. While most women in Britain don’t even know this day exists, it’s a national holiday over there and each year a special print is designed so that women can buy Women’s Day fabric and make (or have made) and wear a special Women’s Day outfit. If only Britain would take a leaf out of Burkina’s book!
Anyway, here’s a snippet on women trying (and sometimes succeeding) to break their way into West African politics…
And a shameless plug for my feature on women bearing the brunt of climate change in Burkina Faso.
