  • Scary-looking half-plant/half-animals from the Carnivorous Plant Society,
  • Exotic plants and art from Akamba, in Solihull,
  • Scrumptious cakes and tarts from Global Fusion, a Creole vegan bakery,
  • Smelling the garden beach huts – very nice, but VERY extravagant,
  • Realising my garden isn’t overcrowded and haphazard, it’s a “cottage garden”,
  • Discovering fantastic British white wines from Danebury vineyard, nestled in my old stomping ground in Hampshire,
  • Seeing our very own Garden Organic enticing new members and offering expert advice from their stall right at the entrance.
  • Lowlights…

  • Everyone trundling around shopping trolleys like wheeled suitcases that get in your way at airports,
  • Not being able to afford any of the funny and gorgeous signs from Find The Three Daughters,
  • Wanting to sample Sainsbury’s new colour-coded wine classifications but realising we’d have to sit through 15 minutes of sales waffle first,
  • Lots of microphone-clad salesmen showing off blenders, hoovers, massagers and loads of other unexciting stuff,
  • Lots of big brands that didn’t add much quality or ‘wow’ factor,
  • A plastic “goodie-bag” full of Nestle cereals, L’Oreal adverts and an aerosol of whitening toothpaste (although boyfriend classes this as a highlight!).
